Switching to WhatsApp and Other Info

I’ve got some important information for you in this post, so I hope that you read it all of the way through!

Book Info

Firstly, we are meeting this Saturday to discuss Project Hail Mary. Please get in touch with me if this is a meeting which you’d like to attend but can’t.
There also has been interest in doing a follow-up meeting to Illuminae to discuss the trilogy as a whole. I’m tentatively scheduling that for next Saturday, the 24th.
Along that same vein, please let me know what genre or theme you’d like us to do next! I’m moving in a couple of weeks, so I will get that poll up and schedule the meetings when I’m able. If you have something in mind that you’d like to see us read or reread, shoot me or the group a message.

Other Info

We are switching to WhatsApp!
I reached out to you several days ago and received nothing but relieved responses, so the switch has begun. 😊 All group chats and announcements will take place there. You will no longer be receiving any text or Telegram updates from me.
This switch saves me money and time, as the service I use for texting continues to increase in price and decrease in accessibility. It further allows for wider accessibility on your end, as we all are well aware of the uselessness of Telegram on MacOS and iOS. WhatsApp has accessible native apps for iOS, MacOS, and Windows. Sorry; I know nothing about Android!
I have redesigned the website with this in mind. In the main menu, you will find links to join the three groups we currently have open: announcements, chatting, and writing. Feel free to join any of these but especially the announcements group which, as with Telegram, will not have any chatter in it except for the important info you need. Please note that you will have to be logged into the site in order to see the chat and writing group links.
If you can’t access your account and have trouble with the password reset, please let me know and I can manually do it.
I’ve also included links to the TeamTalk server and Zoom room in the menu, both accessible if you are logged in. I’ll still include this info in my announcements, but hopefully this is of some help to you.
Finally, I’ve redone the profile form. You can now add your preferred pronouns and a couple of other social media pages, if you are so inclined.
If you find any issues with anything, please let me know. I’ve looked over it enough times that I very easily could be missing something obvious.
